The main objective of the ORCA summer school is to advance caries research regionally as well as to establish collaboration and enhance networking within the caries research community in the South East Asia region and internationally.
Participation in the summer school is by invitation only. About 50 institutes (including universities and ministries of health) from the following countries: Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, Philippines, Vietnam, Brunei, Taiwan, and China (Hong Kong) will be invited to submit research proposals on various aspects of cariology. These proposals will be assessed by ORCA and principal investigators of the shortlisted proposals will be invited to participate in the summer school.
The summer school will provide an opportunity for principal investigators who are lead caries researchers in their respective institutes and countries to come together, exchange ideas and highlight the different research needs in each of their communities.
